PGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur – The Philippine National Police (PNP) successfully initiated
a simultaneous Peace Covenant Signing on March 15, 2016 in the morning in
Pagadian City and in the municipality of Labangan of this province, Police
provincial Official said.

Police Provincial Director Senior Supt Michael Nicolas said that in Pagadian
City, the City Police Station headed by City Police Chief Supt Michael Pineda Palermo
together with City COMELEC headed by Mrs. Anacleta Balinton, City DILG headed
by Mrs Paulina Gadiano, 53rd IB Commanding Officer LTC Virgilio Hamos JR,
Convenors and members of Interfaith Forum for Peace and Solidarity, Amnesty
International Philippines, Oracis, and other Stakeholders conducted the signing
of peace covenant at the Hero's Hall, ZAMSURECO Building.
The signing of peace
covenant were participated by all local candidates of Pagadian City, PD Senior
Supt Nicolas said.
He said that before the signing of the peace covenant, a Unity Walk and Bike for Peace was also conducted started at wharf area of this city ended at Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative) ZAMSURECO where the venue of the Signing on Peace Covenant was done.
The Unity Walk and
Bike for Peace aims to enhance community awareness and appreciation on the
conduct of peaceful election through unity and solidarity were attended by the
participating agencies and students from different schools of this city.
At about 6:30 in the
morning, Labangan Police React Team conducted road security coverage during the
Bike for Peace started at the wharf area in this city going to Labangan town
and end in Tukuran municipality of this province.
In Labangan town, the
personnel of Labangan Municipal Police Station headed by Labangan Police
Chief Senior Inspector June Akiate
Lawingan Initiated the conduct of Peace Covenant signing held at the municipal
hall attended by the local candidates.
He disclosed that
this activities aims to strengthen the commitment of every Political Candidate
from different political parties to ensure peaceful, clean, credible and honest
