CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Feb. 20 (PNA) -- Security authorities have prohibited
the carrying of backpacks in all the games’ venue of the four-day Zamboanga
Peninsula Athletic Association (ZPRAA) 2015 meet in this city.
This
was announced Friday by Supt. Glenn Dulawan, citing his office in coordination
with the Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion have readied security plans to ensure
the peaceful and orderly holding of ZPRAA here.
The
ZPRAA, which will see the participation of at least 5,000 athletic delegates,
starts February 25 and ends on February 28 in this city.
Dulawan
said the joint police-military security force will be augmented by the
Provincial Public Safety Company as well as policemen of this province’s 26
municipalities during the conduct of the ZPRAA.
Dulawan
said they will also put up a police assistance center at the ZPRAA games’ venue
and in the city proper for swift response to any emergency that may arise.
He
appealed to the public to cooperate with them since checkpoints will also be
established in different parts of this city.(PNA)
